pia visits

I heard Pia's name about 1,347 before her arrival and approximately 3,497 after she left.  Many times in the car or when she woke up the first statement would be "Pia?"  I would explain that she went home and she is with Jannic, Leroy and Daniel.  Then her expression would perk again "Jannic, Leroy, Dan?"  The Ekornes family will always have a very special spot in our hearts.

Pia helped me immensely especially being Carson came down with RSV that weekend.  The day she arrived was the day we went to the doctor, just Carson and myself {that in its self was a real treat!}.  Then came the constant play.  Pia never tired, only kept on playing :)

They tried to go to the park almost every day but unfortunately the weather had other ideas.  The cold wind was just too much for even the most prepared adventurers.

My sick baby

Pia enjoyed doing a few of our tot school activities with Madison as well

As usual..."The baby whisperer" at her best

Even with all these layers the weather was just cold

Because Carson was very sick, most of our time was spent inside. We did eat out twice and once was to try crawfish. Both Pia and I have never tried it but being Pia is a professional chef she later told me that the crawfish are very similar to the fresh water shrimp they eat in Norway. With her guidance, I was able to deshell and enjoy my first crawfish. Yes, I did enjoy it but no I wouldn't have it again. Basically, to me, there was alot of work for about 1 small bite of food. We were there for quite some time and also enjoyed the shrimp and sausage that came with the platter.

I love Madison's first reaction to the crawfish.  She did later warm up to them, even kissing one, but that thing better not be sitting on her plate.  She will literally throw it off.

Poor sick little man.  Too tired to enjoy.

Our poor man was sick but we all really wanted to at least take Pia out once.  She we packed everyone up and went to this restaurant.  Here is a video of just how tired little man was...

Cover his eyes and he would fall asleep.

The time is NEVER enough but every minute was enjoyed. Ben and I even squeezed in a date night.  Thank you Pia for visiting and Thank You Jannic for lending your wife to us for a weekend!!
