rice cereal....second try

Let me rub it around on my face.  That will surely be more enjoyable.
Then I swish it around in my mouth, only spitting out 50% and...

Yep, the second try was much better

grandma and grandpa stewart visit

We have already had a very busy and exciting August. Grandma and Grandpa Stewart came to visit us in Colorado.  Grandma spent lots of time with Madison ;)  Everyone enjoyed fishing at Eleven Mile Lake.  Wait.  Let me back track.  No one enjoyed the fishing because no fish were caught!  Grandpa waited, Ben tried every lure possible and Grandma enjoyed little Madison.  So really the enjoyment came from the family time and NOT the fishing.  Madison and Grandma also enjoyed some pool time while the boys were golfing.  The weekend was so much fun.  I love when Madison gets to enjoy her grandparents.  See you at our house in October Grandma and Grandpa!!

Nice and comfortable in the shade

Little Madison is starting to practice with Rice Cereal.  We secretly were hoping that she would sleep longer and wake up less.  Nope. Didn't Help.  The story that it will "make such a huge difference" is a myth for all of you mothers our there.  Anyway, enough of the soap box discussion.  We tried the cereal while Aunt Kari and Uncle Matt were in town.  I knew that Kari would enjoy it as much as I would.  Little Madison made some funny faces.  Here are a few of the highlights.

Mommy is trying to tell me how to do this

Not really sure about this mom

Um. Yeah. What are you trying to do to me.

This is kind of funny mommy

Nope. Still. Hate it.  (Poor thing!)

This is for the birds mom!

Oh, and if you were wondering our beautiful daughter's sleep patterns remain the same.  Get up at 12:30 and get up at 4:30 then wake for the day at 6:30.  We are discussing this with the pediatrician on Madison's 6 month check up, scheduled Tuesday at 10:39.  Mommy and Daddy are tired parents!

P.S. I tried the cry it out method and Mommy was almost crying more than Madison.  She is just my little baby.  I feel so bad when I know I can help :(

uncle matt, aunt kari and all of madison's cousin visit to colorado

Ryan, Aunt Kari, Nick and Madison enjoying some quality time together.

Cousin Ryan and Madison
The Stewart crew came to visit us in CO Springs at the end of July.  We had such a blast!  Shopping, Golfing, Going to the Zoo were among the few things we did.  Spending time with such a fun, outgoing family is great.  There was never a dull moment.  Uncle Ben kept the boys busy 24-7 with either riding the dune buggy, flying airplanes, shooting guns, running in the sprinklers or watching a movie.  Go. Go. Go.

I love my Aunt Kari so much.  I really wish she lived closer :(

Enjoying some fun in the sun.  The pool is Madison's and about 3 times too small for the boys.  But don't think that stopped them.

Ryan being the "king" of the pool

Nick decided her was going to show Ryan with some serious splashing

Time out to hug mommy

I love playing with my cousin Lucas.

cheyenne mountian zoo

Matt, Kari, Ryan, Nick and Lucas came to visit us in July.  We had such a great time.  One of our days was spent at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.  There is quite a bit of walking up hills but everyone did great.  Ryan loved the tall giraffes and Nick loved to chase anything on the ground, which included peacocks, squirrels and maybe a few leaves even ;)  We had a great time with a wonderful family.  We feel so blessed.

Look at my cool sunglasses.  They match the giraffes.
