sleepy family

The joys of parenting and raising a child are beyond this world.  I feel so completely blessed for a healthy, beautiful baby.  She has brought so much love to our family.  But let us be honest...You do not get much sleep.  These two pictures are perfect examples of what happens from sleep deprivation.

Family Excursion

Our first "major" family outing (of course including Keila) was to the Castle Rock Outlets. The day began with imprinting our baby's hand and feet.  They actually cast a mold so it is a 3-D replica (Thank you Western States for that gift!).  Then we went shopping.

The day began smoothly, baby sleeping, me finding the "sales" and Dad asking how much money we really spending today on this trip.

Then chaos....

Baby screaming, mom hitting everything over with the stroller (seriously the isles are not made wide enough, have you tried maneuvering that thing!) and Keila and Dad asking me what I wanted to do.

I haven't started pumping at this point and realize I have got to get this baby fed.  We whip on over to the food court.  Now this is my FIRST excursion mind you so I have not even used my fancy cover up while breastfeeding.  I have no choice.  Ben sits on one side, Keila sits on the other and baby is under the cover.  I am pretty sure I may have flashed an old lady walking by with her cane but whatever!  She has boobs too I guess.

We safely (aka do not flash anyone else) feeding and resume our day.  Just as we are about to leave the food court, I look at Ben and say "Do you smell that?"  Yep you guessed it, a serious, serious blow out.  Now we must go to the girls room, wipe from belly button to toes, change outfits (which never goes over well and I hate the outfit I brought because "MY baby won't poop thru everything. That is what the diaper is for." Yeah right!) and get back in the car seat.  Thirty minutes later we exit the bathroom with Dad and Aunt Keila staring at us.  I know what they are thinking...What in the world took so long?!?  Let me just say it is not easy on those stupid changing tables and people asking/looking at your baby non stop.  I know what they are thinking too (I am psychic, no need to ask)...They are thinking, geez get control of your kid.  Ok, maybe not but the stares sure feel like that!  Anyway...Lets continue with our wonderful first family shopping outing.

We ended up with a few great deals and a happy, sleeping baby on the way home.  Whoa, Success!

joys of being an aunt and uncle

The cutest nephews ever came to visit and meet Madison (seen in the previous blog) but Aunt Cassie and Uncle Ben still wanted quality time with our adorable boys.  Uncle Ben always has fun activities to play with including flying airplanes, making beautiful rocks with the tumbler and dressing Ryan up as a Western States Construction Worker.  Aunt Cassie played with this toy that was "THIRTY dollars Aunt Cassie."  (Actually Uncle Ben just told him that because originally he thought it wasn't cool).  We also put together bug puzzles and hammering/nailing stuff into a tub.  Our nephews are such little blessings.

Flying the airplanes.  There was a large airplane passing and both the boys got so excited, "Beat him Uncle Ben, Hurry, Hurry."  Then Ben pretended he was going to have a head on collision as well.  The boys just kept laughing.  So much fun!

Waiting patiently for the rock tumbler to finish its job

Look how beautiful the rocks are (We actually secretly switched the rocks.  That thing takes like 7 days.  Um, 2 year old and 5 year old are not going to wait that long).

Uncle Ben bought the boys some awesome kites!

Family Times

We had the joy of a visit from both of our families to meet our beautiful baby girl.

My parents came for about a week.  Madison loved being held (aka spoiled) by her grandparents.  But like the saying goes, "That is what grandparents are for."  We had a great time.  I was just one week old.  Here are a few of the pictures.

The Stewart family came next when I was 3 weeks old.  This included Grandma and Grandpa, Aunt and Uncle and all three adorable cousins.  To have all the family together was fantastic and we got some great pictures.  Madison enjoyed meeting everyone, including her youngest cousin Lucas who just wanted to hold on to her (maybe a bit more aggressive than mommy wanted).  What do you expect from a 10 month old discovering everything?!?!  Here are a few pictures.

Daddy 's Pick

I think Daddy does a pretty good job picking out outfits for his little girl.  We both agreed it looks like she has wings from the arm ruffles and maybe even football pads on top but over all super cute outfit.  Now can we just start fitting into the 0-3 months clothes and not all the newborn!!

My Baby's Smile

Madison has just recently started smiling at us.  As you can tell you has a good head of hair and crazy hair days are frequent.  We love bows and headbands.
Some days I just look at her and ask where time has gone.  She is already 6 weeks old and growing so fast.  Mommy just wants to old her forever.  These moments are forever in my heart.

I Love Bath Time

Our Madison just loves her bath time.  Once she is in the water all she wants to do is relax or kick her legs in the air.  Here are some cute pictures :)

I love it in here

Mom and Dad love to give me a bath...Who is watching the me?!?

Wow that was great mom and dad!  (I was so little here, about 3 weeks) Can't you tell how much I have grown!!  I'm such a big girl now!
I am so warm wrapped in mommy's arms
