Window Well Covers

He is a plumber.
He is a carpenter.
He is a electrician.
He is a husband.
He is an engineer.
He is a drywaller.
He is a mechanic.
He is a welder....

And what is he doing now...

Welding!

Ben has been talking about window well covers for some time but has always had a longer "to-do" list and wasn't able to get to it.  The "To-Do" list is shrinking so Ben is custom welding some window well covers for our home.  It is turning out great!  The estimate from a store's online calculator for the covers were approximately $1500 for 4 (we have five).  Ben is going to spend about $450.  WOW.  Big difference!

What do you think?!?!?!

We just have the priming and painting to go!  Nice work honey!

Golfing, Golfing and More Golfing.

Ben's parents came this past weekend while the Master's Golf Tournament was going on.  Ben and Gary played golf Friday and Saturday while Mary and I walked with them Friday and did some shopping Saturday.  We watched the Masters, did some shopping, and enjoyed a couple of beautiful Colorado days!

Look close and you can see Ben taking the picture!

Such great weather!

Finishing Touches

Ben is just about done finishing staining the doors.  They look so good!  It better look good after staining, sanding, staining, sanding a thousand times!  Great job honey!

My Best Friend!

My sister is my very best friend!  I Love you sister!

Beautiful Film Side Table

Another neat "concoction" of Ben's...Movie Reel Side Table.  Made from a movie reel case, movie reel film and coat hangers!

Candy Display Case

Ben has always loved the candy displays they have at the theater so he figured he could build one too!

Do you see those awesome lights coming down and the mirror behind it?!  So cool!  The case opens up so people can choose just the right candy!

Parental Visit

My wonderful parents came to visit a few weekends back for a couple of days.  I love when they come!!  Hiking was definantly on the agenda for the weekend so we went to Cheyenne Mountain and Green Mountain Falls.  What amazing views!!!  They would have been more aggressive hikers if it wasn't for there oxygen depleted daughter!  The hiking and spending time together was great!  Love you mom and dad!!!

And after a hard day of hiking, this is the best part!!

Fishing in March

Can I just begin by saying March is not the best weather to be sitting in, reading a book and watching your husband fish in.  I am sure most intelligent people know this but the loving wife that I am decided honey needed some "outdoorsy" fun so I lovingly said, "Why dont we go fishing."  In CO Springs that day the weather was beautiful, approximately, 60 degrees.  The weather in the Rocky Mountains, at a high elevation, with open priarie, winds gusting, it was approximately 32 degrees and windchill I have no clue, but COLD.  Obviously, big difference!  So freezing Cassie proudly watched as Ben caught a minnow (ok, maybe a little bigger, but I swear, not much) and the minnows brother.  So needless to say the long johns, long sleeve shirt, sweatshirt, winter jacket, thin gloves, thick gloves, neck warmer, hood from the sweatshirt, hat, hood from the winter jacket and jeans were not keeping this girl warm.....

We lasted about 2 hour and even Ben said, "wow, it is really cold out here."

Yeah, I noticed!!  Haha!!
