one fun filled weekend

Ben is a goer.  By this I mean, a man who every minute has to be doing something.  I am not exaggerating.  If he were a bee he would be described as "busy bee."  He is buzzing around doing this and that.  Just the other day I look in the garage to find him lifting his HUGE air compressor up into the attic and running copper lines everywhere to have easy access from multiple in-wall outlets.  (Ok, it is a bit over my head as well but that is the best I can describe his antics).  BUSY BEE!!  Our weekends are no different.  If there are activities to see, this Stewart family is there.  Miss Madison will never be bored with Ben being her daddy :)

The day began with a fun airplane show (If you are wondering if I get tired of these shows the answer is yes.  But being the good wife I am I just go along, smile and try to think about the good tan I am getting along with the extra Vitamin D)

Airplane show here we come!
Lots of flying!
Honey, you are looking the wrong way!
Those little toes are mommy's favorite!
Keeping the family from roasting in the 91 degree weather

And she is out..

Nice and comfy in the Snugli :)
Then, if that wasn't enough, Colorado Springs was hosting a motorcycle rally (Nothing like Sturgis but still fun)

This also made our little Madison exhausted.  We walked up and down main street.  Too much work for such a little girl.

mommy and daddy have a date night

Life used to be about us, Ben and I enjoying our free time, going to movies, hanging out with friends, tons of shopping or simply have a nice dinner.  Now times have changed a bit.  We have this little person to tow around.  Don't get me wrong, she is super cute and the happiest girl but she has alot of "baggage."  Baggage is defined as the extra emotional/physical "stuff" people bring into a relationship.  For our little Madison this baggage consists of a stroller, car seat, heavy blanket, light blanket, burp rag, diapers, wipes, extra outfit for the potential blow out, rattle, toys, bottle, car bottle warmer, diaper bag, oh and the baby.  Yep, alot of baggage.  Our simple rendezvous have become quite the affair nowadays.  Every now and again we enjoy having our simple evenings with no baggage.  (Please do not read this and think we are horrible parents.  I would not change one thing about being a mother, nor would Ben being a father.  We just enjoy some good quality Mommy and Daddy time)

Here was one such evening

my first swim

When I think of my childhood, instantly water, swimming, swimming and more water come to mind.  For instance... I began swimming lessons when I was around 4 or 5 because my dad wanted me to be able to swim if, God forbid, we fell out of the fishing boat into the lake.  At the beginning everything went as normal, I went to swim lessons and I was done in 30 minutes.  Then "dooms day" as my dad may refer to it came when the swim team coach suggested I join the Rapid City Racers.  From there, the fishing ceased and the swim meets took over.  Looking back I think we may have went out on the boat about 3 times after that day.  I can sort of understand the dooms day reference (oops!).  Due to my complete love of water I wanted to start my little girl on the right foot, enjoying some summer fun in her miniature pool.  As you will soon see, things did not go quite as planned.....

Lets Get Ready!
Sunscreen...CHECK

Happy as a Clam... CHECK

Then the pool time comes

Ok, this might not be too bad

Um, I am still not sure mom and dad

Oh wow this is nice in the 95 degree weather.  Thanks mom and dad.

Needless to say we didn't last long :)  Next time will be better, right?!?!
