Ben's Work Crew

Ben was in charge of taking the Western States Fire Protection of Colorado Springs "family" picture. Here is the results....

The guy in the light blue shirt, on the left hand side is Ben's boss, Don Brown.

Our fence really needed to be stained last year so it was a MUST do this year. Ben researched and found if you pressure wash the fence first, the stain will take better and last longer. We followed the rules and this is the near completion picture.

The Beginning of Growth

I took these pictures the first of June and will take some new ones in July (the plants have already grown so much)! I love the summer for this reason. The flowers, the plants, the trees, the vegetables are all so beautiful. Watching these plants transform is so much fun!

Everything is coming along....You will be surprised by the changes in July!

New Projects Update

We began with the idea of wanting a fire pit. The next decision was where to put it. We decided right off the deck was the best for easy access and limited amount of removing grass. This is where we began.

Picking out the bricks, cobblestone and stones was not easy, especially because we really didn't want to spend tons of money. I think our choices turned out very nice!

The U shaped cement blocks are going to be seating actually. We are placing some heavier stones on top and the open area will be for extra chairs. The cement blocks Ben is actually tiling (to save some money). I can't wait for it to be done!!!

Pikes Peak Fishing

Custer State Park Free Weekend May, 2010

We had such a great time at the Custer State Park Free Weekend at the end of May, 2010. We enjoyed free fishing, a free pancake feed at Legion Lake and a fishing derby with Ryan and Nick at Sylvan Lake. The time spent with our family was priceless. Thank you for being so wonderful family!!

Let the Derby Begin

Ryan got second place in the fishing derby. Moments before this he says to me...Aunt Cassie I hope I don't win a fishing pole because it's not really a toy. The prize was a fishing pole and a Cabelas hat.
