lucky little lady

My parents came to visit for a week and life was good ;)

I got a much needed break.  I filled it with about 5 different appointments and even squeezed a little bit of shopping in.  The grandparents were in heaven.  I think kids are different when they know Mommy and Daddy aren't there {especially mommies} and there is better bonding time with each other.  Now don't get me wrong, that wasn't really the reason I enjoyed my time away, but it was an added bonus.

Madison spent most of her time either dragging Grandma or Grandpa {whom ever was readily available with their arm hanging down so she could grab it and go} back into her room to play.  Grandpa spent about 2-3 hours a day back there {I'm not even kidding!}.  Grandma and Madison took some nice walks and even cooked some delicious bars together.

The time was great!  I actually feel for once we were not running around trying to do 20 activities.  We spent just really good time together.  I am grateful  to have these amazing parents to now call grandparents.

Cooking, or maybe just alot of eating was happening?!?!

Carson was spoiled with Grandmas extra hugs and cuddles.  He enjoyed it so much I just couldn't say no :) P.S. Look at those legs!  I mean Carson's ;)  They are just so chunk and I love it!

This is now Grandpa's 2nd home...Madison's bedroom

Fun at the park!

Even Grandpa got in on the action!

One of my favorite pictures.  Madison LOVED that Grandpa was going down the slide with her.  She kept saying Again, One More.

We spent Madison's birthday at the beach!  The weather was a little cool, with a breeze off the ocean, but that made no difference to a little beach girl!

Waiting for Daddy to come to the beach.  He arrived only about 1 hour later.  Half a day of work and a Half of a day to enjoy a beautiful lady turning 2

You can't tell but she is soaked at this point and Mommy's pants are wet up to about hip line.

He loved the water and sand in his toes

A cold little girl.

What an awesome day!!

I am posting her birthday presents and cake pictures soon......

two years

We asked Madison how old she was going to be and she kept saying

2 months

With a little practice we finally were able to get her to say

2 years

But whenever someone asks she can't just say 2 she would always have to say

2 years

The cutest moments come from that little mouth.

Madison remains my baby girl.  I don't ever think I will see her anything but.  I remember holding her for the first time.  The moment is one I keep dear to my heart.  The first words I spoke to her were "I love you so much baby girl" and that remains true.

My little Madison loves to laugh especially at her Dad's crazy dancing or Mommy's crinkled nose.  She smiles often and at everyone.  You can find her in the store waving at the people passing by or blowing kisses at the cashiers.

Boo bear remains a favorite nickname.  Is that name still appropriate at 13?

Her favorites are string cheese, M M, Minnie or Mickey Mouse, Sully, Humpty Dumpty, Puzzles, Painting, Baby, Going to the Park, Watching Carson get his Diaper Changed and Playing with both her Grandparents.

In the morning I here "Good Mornen Mom" and then Carson gets "Mornen Carson"

Before her nap I here "Mom, Mom, Eat, Eat, Play, Play" and then she finally runs out of distracting tactics.  She lays her head on the bed and falls asleep.

At meal time I here "No" to any and every option of food provided.  She remains a fickle eater.  Usually we have 1 good day of eating to every 4 days of minimal eating.

My baby girl is the light of my day. Having lunches together has been a joy. Just hearing her talk, and talk, and talk makes me smile. Usually it goes something like this...

Daddy work, come home

During the evening I here "Bath, Bath, Carson Bath too"

As we slowly walk to her room before bed I here "Night Night Mommy" and every now again she touches my face, looks me in the eye and says "Thank you Mommy."  Yes, those little words melt my heart as well.  About 2 or 3 months ago she became a big girl {Mommy and Daddy were not ready}. All she wants is to lay in her bed while Mommy and Daddy kiss her goodnight.  We miss our cuddle time.  We place a blanket over her, have her 11 stuffed animals/babies/toys/legos/picnic baskets around the bed and whisper I love you.

There is never a dull moment and we are always on the move, either reading, crafting, trying to eat or playing at the park.

Carson starts fussing while we are playing fort under Mommy and Daddy's comforter.

Grabbing Carson's face and holding it 2 inches from hers states........

"watch me, no cryin"

He continued to cry, now because he is being restricted, and Madison was upset because we couldn't play fort anymore.

My adorable children.

"mmmmmmmm"

Madison kept saying "mmmm Carson mmmmm"

Carson enjoyed his first meal of oatmeal cereal.  He is definitely still in the learning phase.  Most of the time he just pushed his tongue out, like, what are you forcing in my mouth Mom.

This is what I am saying,

"Yum Carson!"
"MMM this is so good"
"Open wide"
"Yummy baby"

but what I am doing is this...

making faces right along with him.

But the cute part is when he is trying to "enjoy" his first solid food meal.....

Can you believe this is happening to me?

Carson how do you feel about your first meal?

As we were just walking to bed Madison turns to her kitchen and table set and says to all the "people" sitting...

"Bye Monkey,
Bye Abby {Cadabby from Sesame Street},
Bye Mickey {Aka Minnie who is now called Mickey},
Bye Table,
Bye Book,
Bye Kitchen,
Bye Ball,
Bye Puter {Computer},
Bye Friends.
See in Mornen {Morning}"

I feel like the luckiest mom ever!

madison {isms}

"peze, tank you, wel come" all in one sentence

"scuse me" while looking at mommy like {you know better, mom!} after I bummed her head accidentally with the car seat {This actually happens alot, so I get this look and statement daily}

"friends, caleb, lyssa (Alyssa) park" We had a impromptu play date in the park and now that is all she wants to do

"watch ah mOOOOvie"  She enunciates this one.  I am pretty sure it is so I completely understand her request

"m m" The one candy and only candy she requests.  Did I mention any candy that is round, looks good, may or may not be chocolate is considered "m m"

"carson no cry" Another popular request that I myself have secretly wanted as well

These Madison isms have become a highlight of our day.

tot school {Colors ~ Red/Pink}

I have continued with trying new activities to encourage learning for Madison.  Good or bad, learning or not, the activities have been really fun.  Madison gets excited when I say we are going to learn today {she knows that means fun, messy activities}.

Painting

We did this a couple of times.  Using just a toilet paper roll she stamped hearts all over the paper.  She definitely can say things are pink {even if it is say...Purple or Blue or Black or well you get my point}.  The art work was super cute and I plan on framing it for her room.

Stickers

Stickers are always a huge hit.  This time we used all the red stars and read dots.  I probably said "red" over a hundred times and when daddy came home and asked what color the apple was, "Pink" was the answer.  Patience is a virtue ;)

Chalk

I tried spicing up chalk time with a water bottle and that really was a treat.  Madison may have drowned over 50 ants but boy did she learn her "PINK" water bottle could do some damage!

Carson also enjoyed the blood bath of the ants

Watercolors

Madison was shaking she was so excited.  Holding that brush and dipping it in all the colors was better than Christmas morning.  The beginning started out clean, proper and just how I imagined.  P.S. Note the "Pink" bowl (I may have been favoring Pink because I knew she would answer the color question correctly, is that bad?!?!}

Carson couldn't even contain his excitement!

Then disaster city hit....

First the high chair

Then her body work tattoos

She is so proud of herself

Pipe Cleaners

Any parents reading this...Try it!  Easy, cheap, clean entertainment.  We did this for a good 30 minutes. Look at all those PINK pipe cleaners,  :|

Markers

Need I say more......

Ball

We learned what kicking, throwing and bouncing were.  She already understood them all but is now able to identify which goes to what action a bit better.

Beans

We had alot of fun cooking, cleaning, throwing, sorting, counting, dumping and measuring.

Carson is always extra excited to learn as well

We had more activities like reading, puzzles, singing and dancing but here are a few of the newer activities.

Tot School has been really fun for the both of us.  Even if the messes get bigger and the time cleaning is longer I feel like the bonding and learning is worth every minute.

P.S. I may {of course, never, me? no way} stress about the mess at times but then I look at Carson smiling ear to ear because Madison is giggling about putting dried beans in her diaper {no, my perfect children play nicely, never making any mess} and it just makes me laugh, smile and thank the Lord for giving me this time with my growing goof balls.
