easter 2011

What a wonderful Easter!  Grandma and Grandpa Stewart came down to visit us for the weekend.  They were hoping to enjoy our nice weather (60's-70's) but instead they brought the cold and snow along.  The weekend was spent curled up at home, admiring our cute baby girl.  Ham, steamed veggies, mashed potatoes and some biscuits was for lunch and we had barely any leftovers.  We also enjoyed a Red Velvet Cake.

Madison had lots of gifts from family.  Grandma and Grandpa Benson bought her first Easter dress.  And here is the reveal:
I had to add the cardigan since it was snowing outside!!

Grandma and Grandpa Stewart bought some cute summer outfits.

Aunt Kari and Uncle Matt bought her some very cute outfits and also some cute bows for her hair (I will for sure be using those very soon!) As you can tell Madison enjoyed the outfits too.

We had a great time hunting for Easter Eggs and watching a few movies in the theater.  Madison enjoyed sleeping, eating and playing.  The Easter Bunny brought Madison a cute mirror/light up toy along with books and more beautiful bows.

I sure do like the pink ones!

Mommy and Daddy bought her a cute chick stuffed animal and a cute summer Patagonia hat.  We had such a great time and enjoyed spending our first holiday with our daughter.  I am so excited for more to come :)

fire pit fun

We enjoyed a nice evening roasting marshmallows outside on our fire pit.  Yum!  Ben even cooked a hot dog on a stick. Our baby girl was sound asleep in her crib for the night.

first family vacation to estes park

Ben decided we needed a nice family vacation to Estes Park.  We have been itching to have a getaway and a three hour drive is all it took.  Madison loved the fire place.  She was quite enamored by it all weekend.  The weather was nice but not ideal for a newborn.  Very windy!  A cashier said to us, "if someone at the top of the mountain sneezes, we feel it here."  Here are a few pictures from the relaxing weekend in Estes Park.

Madison's love for the fire.  Mommy enjoyed a good book while Madison watched the flames.

Had to get some fly fishing in.  Caught 2 fish even!

grandma benson time

Grandma Benson came to visit us this past weekend.  We (especially Madison) enjoyed having her here.  Grandma is starting a tradition of buying her Easter outfit every year.  To our dismay, Newborn/0-3 month dresses are few and far between.  We did find a couple that are SUPER cute but not exactly what we had in mind.  You have to wait to see what we ended up with but the picture below (the orange/pink dress) was one of the dresses.  She just is such a little doll.  Grandma loved holding and rocking her (isn't that what grandparents are for).  Madison smiled, cooed and kicked around, showing Grandma just how big she is getting.  Here are a few of the pictures from the fun weekend.

This is how she feel asleep.  Can you tell she is an engineers child, already trying to figure things out.

Yep, Grandma did it.

The doctor showed us this move.  It has really been helping with her reflux discomfort.

I LOVE this cute outfit!  We found this when Grandma, Mommy and Madison went shopping.

The Girls

Grandma found all the right positions, unconventional or not, to help Madison.  She enjoyed the toy on the floor blinking at her.
