Our first "major" family outing (of course including Keila) was to the Castle Rock Outlets. The day began with imprinting our baby's hand and feet. They actually cast a mold so it is a 3-D replica (Thank you Western States for that gift!). Then we went shopping.
The day began smoothly, baby sleeping, me finding the "sales" and Dad asking how much money we really spending today on this trip.
Then chaos....
Baby screaming, mom hitting everything over with the stroller (seriously the isles are not made wide enough, have you tried maneuvering that thing!) and Keila and Dad asking me what I wanted to do.
I haven't started pumping at this point and realize I have got to get this baby fed. We whip on over to the food court. Now this is my FIRST excursion mind you so I have not even used my fancy cover up while breastfeeding. I have no choice. Ben sits on one side, Keila sits on the other and baby is under the cover. I am pretty sure I may have flashed an old lady walking by with her cane but whatever! She has boobs too I guess.
We safely (aka do not flash anyone else) feeding and resume our day. Just as we are about to leave the food court, I look at Ben and say "Do you smell that?" Yep you guessed it, a serious, serious blow out. Now we must go to the girls room, wipe from belly button to toes, change outfits (which never goes over well and I hate the outfit I brought because "MY baby won't poop thru everything. That is what the diaper is for." Yeah right!) and get back in the car seat. Thirty minutes later we exit the bathroom with Dad and Aunt Keila staring at us. I know what they are thinking...What in the world took so long?!? Let me just say it is not easy on those stupid changing tables and people asking/looking at your baby non stop. I know what they are thinking too (I am psychic, no need to ask)...They are thinking, geez get control of your kid. Ok, maybe not but the stares sure feel like that! Anyway...Lets continue with our wonderful first family shopping outing.
We ended up with a few great deals and a happy, sleeping baby on the way home. Whoa, Success!
