first solids

Little Madison is starting to practice with Rice Cereal.  We secretly were hoping that she would sleep longer and wake up less.  Nope. Didn't Help.  The story that it will "make such a huge difference" is a myth for all of you mothers our there.  Anyway, enough of the soap box discussion.  We tried the cereal while Aunt Kari and Uncle Matt were in town.  I knew that Kari would enjoy it as much as I would.  Little Madison made some funny faces.  Here are a few of the highlights.

Mommy is trying to tell me how to do this

Not really sure about this mom

Um. Yeah. What are you trying to do to me.

This is kind of funny mommy

Nope. Still. Hate it.  (Poor thing!)

This is for the birds mom!

Oh, and if you were wondering our beautiful daughter's sleep patterns remain the same.  Get up at 12:30 and get up at 4:30 then wake for the day at 6:30.  We are discussing this with the pediatrician on Madison's 6 month check up, scheduled Tuesday at 10:39.  Mommy and Daddy are tired parents!

P.S. I tried the cry it out method and Mommy was almost crying more than Madison.  She is just my little baby.  I feel so bad when I know I can help :(

"The Baby Sleep Solution: A Proven Program to Teach Your Baby to Sleep Twelve Hours a Night" by Suzy Giordano

hey Cassie - Super cute pics of your baby girl. Just wanted to pass on this book title. I happened to come upon this book when my first was a newborn. I have done this sleep training on all three and had them sleeping 12hrs in no time (Sam, before 3 months, Owen before 4 months and Finn before 6 months - he may be our last baby and therefore didn't make him stick to the schedule as tight). it is NOT a cry it out method - I don't like the idea of that either. I think I read the whole book in one hour! Good luck!

Thank you so much Shelly! I hate the cry out method and feel like it doesnt even work. I am actually looking that book up right now! Thanks so much! Hope you and the family are doing well!

Hi Cassie, we don't know each other but I am Shelly's twin sister Stacy. My baby boy is 5 months old today and he has been sleeping 12 hours for a week now thanks to Shelly's recommendation of this book. Your baby girl is pretty cute! Good luck. - Stacy

Thanks so much! I read the book and am now to the stage of removing that last feeding (which was a success last night) and having her cry it out for longer. I am already seeing A HUGE improvement. Thanks so much for saving my sleeping life! You just reach that point of, can I really do this any longer. It has been such an improvement.

yay!!! so happy you are having success with it! A sleeping baby and a sleeping mommy is a really good combination. Some day I think we will need to have a nursing school reunion (or at least a study group reunion: you, steph, jen, and myself) to meet all these little offsprings we have created!

That would be so much fun! So I am not sure why but I haven't been getting your emails for your blog. I know you have certain security on it so maybe try me again. I really have been missing those adorable little faces :)
