Playing at Grandma and Grandpa Benson's house
Oh Grandpa!
Snuggle time after nap time
Madison had her first over night at Grandma and Grandpa Benson's. Of course I didn't cry when she left (a flood of tears were running down my face) and I was completely composed when I kissed her bye (Ben had to hold me for a couple of minutes because I was a mess).
The idea of Madison leaving did not bother me, I knew she was is super safe, capable hands but the care was not being provided by me, Mommy. I think that was the hardest. Controlled and organized are two characteristics that could be used to describe me. Truly, I believe I always had these tendencies and then it tripled when I became a nurse. People's LIVES were in my hands. I needed to control the environment to ensure their safety and be completely organized at all times. Well, in turn this has been carried over to my daughter. My mom is understanding about it, thank goodness. She was very supportive, sending me frequent texts "from Madison" and sending snapshots of all the fun activities. Thank you mom and dad for helping this control freak of a mother wean herself into this release of control.
Ben and I spent most of the day helping Mary and Gary with all the new additions, changes, unpacking, redoing, building associated with buying a new home. My main goal for the day was reorganize the closet. Oh, how ironic we gave the organized nut this task ;) We just figured out a better way to use the space for multiple lengths of dresses, trousers and blouses. I was also in charge of putting up all the different pictures in the home. You really don't realize just how many pictures you have until they are put in a pile. I think Mary was happy with the outcome and I was impressed with how much a few pictures can make a house feel so much more homey.
Ben worked on stuff. Ok, that is mean because he was either in the attic or the crawl space all weekend but to explain how he soldered some copper to do something with the air compressor and wired the tv/surround sound just is not as much fun as decorating. He wont read this....No harm done ;)
Wow, now that I have wrote the first chapter of my new novel I will leave you with a whew! I am going to get back on track with this blogging business and apologize for this small hiatus. Hopefully the next few blogs will explain this laps!
