This past weekend we enjoyed a WWII airplane show. Ben LOVED every minute, Madison just wanted to eat a hot dog, Carson smiled when we said airplane and Mommy loved the hot sun, tanning her skin. I guess you could say the weekend was a win for everyone!
| There was a true crowd watching Carson as he drove this mini plane. Honestly, I can see why...Because he is freakin cute! |
To follow, we went to a Lake - a - palooza. This had been advertised on the 16 lane interstate and even a few radio commercials. I was imagining hustle and bustle. The event was free but only 20 minutes from our house. I told Ben the event was having swimming, tons of events for the kids, an animal petting area and lots of delicious food. That was me quoting the website.
I regret not taking a picture of the entire event as a whole because to say disappointing and pitiful does not quite fit. I should be grateful either way for such an event but the build up was intense. There was a total of about 5 booths. A water boat area, a train, a bounce house, 3 food trucks and dogs that were fetching a stick in the lake that we weren't allowed to swim in.
Ben and I just kept laughing. I was waiting for some secret door to open and say surprise, just kidding, here are all the fun activities we spoke about. But no. After about 30 minutes we turned around and went home.
This is the problem. We spent 10 minutes getting the stroller out and packed. 10 minutes to get both kids sunscreened up head to toe. 5 minutes finding the lost shoe. 3 minutes picking up the goldfish Madison had thrown.
Do you see the problem?
US GETTING READY TOOK LONGER THAN THE EVENT!
Problem!
I could be the positive person and say, we still had wonderful family fun. Which we did for the 10 minutes of actual activity duration but really the drive and the prep was not really worth the time.
Either way we have more fun pictures!!!
| Madison would say how much she wanted to go on the boats then minutes later say, all done, all done. |
