dance, dance, dance

Madison was enjoying one of her gifts from Santa Claus, a Baby Genius 12 DVD set.  The DVDs have classical music with different themes to each.  For example, we go to the zoo, or the park, or to space.  There are also DVDs that have children's songs and ABC's or 1,2,3's.  They are really good learning tools but most of all Madison really enjoys watching the giraffes eat grass or the cartoon hippo playing a sax.  Here are a few of the cute moves she has.
You sing it pink bear!
Let me get a closer listen...Did you just say A B C

This is the part that she is shaking her little booty.  Up and Down, Hoppity, Hoppity!

did you just say egyptian shades?!

Now that we have our office work space in the front room, we need some window coverings.  I told Ben I have always loved Roman Shades.  I explained they were fabric shades that bunched with you closed them.  We looked at Lowes and he agreed, they were perfect but of course we were not going to be spending $48 a piece for the window covering.

Fast forward to tonight.  I am at the desk blogging and he is sitting across from me in a comfy chair.  With the IPad in his hands he just asked me.....

"So what color do we want those Egyptian shades to be?"

I looked over the computer to see if he was kidding.  Nope, he was completely serious and now I can not even stop laughing.

His response, "Roman, Egyptian...Same thing!"

mommy's birthday preparation

Madison and Daddy were hard at work baking a cake for me on Friday night.  Daddy was a bit ambitious and wanted to show of his baking skills by making a three tier cake.  It was as much fun to watch as it was to eat.

If you make that noise one more time blender....There is going to be consequences!

Beautiful girl, with a few scrapes and bruises

Dad, you must taste test it please

This is so much fun!!

Patiently waiting

Dad working hard and Madison enjoying a sugar high!

This seems to be the trend...Eating powdered sugar

Yes, she was a HAPPY girl after this baking session

"Dad, what else did you say we needed to do?  Must I do everything around here!!!"

Perfection!!!

building with dad

This is just a sneak peak.  We have redone our front room from a sitting room to an office in preparation for the next addition (no news yet but crossing our fingers it is soon!)  We bought this desk for $20!!! on Craigs List.  We refurbished it and now have a beautiful new desk sitting in the middle of the room.  I have a few more finishing touches to make and then I will unveil the finished product!  Can't wait....And as you can tell Daddy and Madison had a fun time as well.

my computer geek

Ben began talking of building a computer about 8 months ago.  He felt like he would "get a better deal" by building it himself.  Now to most normal people, including myself, this sounds INSANE!  To my husband, it is a new challenge and a "learning" opportunity.  Yes, that is what he said and yes, I did make fun of him in a loving way.

The knowledge Ben has about everything really does seem crazy.  I mean who knows how to sew costumes, build airplanes, design and construct a basement and now build computers.  Wow, glad he is mine ;)

Ben has explained all these components to me, more than once I am sure, but people this is a foreign language to me.  So this blog is simply to admire his work and not try to explain it because I know if I tried I would look a fool.

Yep, some people just use a little bit more of their brain.

i can cook like mom too now

The kitchen set Grandma and Grandpa Benson bought has been a hit.

Ben was THRILLED (haha) to put this 75 piece puzzle together.  As you can tell it was no easy task.  After Madison went to bed he spent his evening putting this adorable kitchen set together, stove top and all.

Thanks Dad!

Just like my Mom's.  What is cooking?

In my pajamas just cooking up some pasta for mommy and daddy before I hit the sack.
Thanks again Mom and Dad.  This has been wonderful!
